1883 Stutsman County Courthouse: Becoming Americas First Historic Site about Citizenship

Join State Historical Society of North Dakota Historic Sites Manager Robert Hanna and hear about the new permanent exhibit opening this spring at our sister site in Jamestown. We believe it will make 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse State Historic Site the first historic site, interpretive center, or museum in the United States wholly devoted to the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. The activity-oriented exhibit design supports how most visitors come to historic sites, in small social groups of family or friends, and appeals to a wide range of ages and interests.
