Title: Marquise de Mores with Louis, Athenais, and Paul
Date: 1901
Inscription/Marks: On the back: 0042-115.
Summary: This family portrait shows Medora, Marquise de Mores with her children. Medora is seated in a carved chair in a long white lace gown with gathered long sleeves, high neck with double strand of pearls, pearl earrings, and a train with ruffles. Athenais is leaning on the chair, dressed in a white dress with lace top and a single strand of pearls, holding a closed fan in her left hand. Louis stands behind his mother, draping his hand over the back of the chair. He is attired in a dark suit, polka dot vest and tie. Paul, the youngest, is seated in a shorter chair, wearing a sailor blouse with white tie over long dark pants. Taken in 1901, according to the family album notes. Medora is no longer in full mourning apparel.
