Inscription/Marks: [front] "This Building with Machinery Will Be Furnished Rent Free to any Responsible Party and will start Any Industry Therein". Packing Plant Given by Louis de Vallombrosa 1954. Collection 0042-180.
Summary: In this dark and damaged photograph, a sign stretches out across the side wall of part of the old Packing Plant abandoned by the Marquis de Mores when the business failed in 1886. Probably dating from the last decade of the 1880s, the photograph captures a sad moment in the history of the building, and for the town of Medora (N.D.). The sign says "This building with machinery will be furnished RENT FREE to any responsible party who will start any industry therein".
