Art in Action at the Museum

The Corridor of History will be lined with North Dakota artisans demonstrating their crafts. This is a wonderful opportunity to observe, ask questions, and learn more about the creative process directly from the artists themselves.

Hands-on art activity stations will offer opportunities to help build a community sticker mural, try rosemaling techniques featured on Norwegian immigration trunks, and experiment with watercolor painting based on the exhibit “Medora: Artist. Heiress. Bear Hunter. Namesake of a Wild West Town,” which features 26 original works.

This event is part of both the ND250 commemoration of the United States’ 250th birthday in 2026 and Vinterfest, a month-long celebration of winter on the northern Plains featuring educational programs, outdoor recreation, and cultural traditions.
