In celebration of the 90th Anniversary of the Bismarck Churchill’s winning their league championship, Phil Dixon will share his talk "Legacies on the Mound: Black Baseball Players in North Dakota History" followed by a book signing. He will share about notable players who had a career in North Dakota, including Satchel Paige. For more than 30 years, author Phil Dixon has recorded African-American sports topics. He has authored nine baseball books and won the Casey Award for the Best Baseball Book of 1992. He received a Society of American Baseball Researchers MacMillan Award for his excellence in historical research. Dixon is a co-founder of the Negro League Baseball Museum in Kansas City and formerly worked in the public relations office of the American League Kansas City Royals.
