Summary: Christopher, Aasen, 24, of Williston, ND, formerly of Ray, ND, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at his Williston residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the Ray Lutheran Church. Pastor Steve Anderson will officiate. Christopher Adam Aasen was born October 23, 1984 to David Aasen and Laurie Johnson at Hettinger, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Dickinson and graduated from Killdeer High School in 2004. As a senior in high school, Chris joined the North Dakota National Guard under the delayed entry program. Upon graduation he went to basic training and AIT at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri. After completion of his basic training, he was assigned to the 816th Engineer Company in Dickinson. Chris was trained in Bosnia as part of the UN peacekeeping force. He was also deployed to the US/Mexican border near Tucson, Arizona to aid in Border Patrol. At the time of his death, Chris was attending Williston State College and was set to graduate in the spring. Chris was passionate about imported cars and all aspects of working on them as well as racing them. In high school he participated in bull riding. He enjoyed being with friends and family. He also enjoyed working on and with computers. He was currently employed with the Williston School District as a Computer Tech. Chris is survived by his parents, David Aasen of Ray, ND and Laurie Aasen of Duluth, MN; brother, Joe Aasen of Ray, ND; sister, Amy Aasen of Palermo, ND; maternal grandparents, Garhart Johnson of Leonard, MN, and Ardy Nordskog of Foston, MN; uncles, Robert (Delores) Aasen, Gary (Theresa) Aasen, Gary Johnson; aunts, Lori (Allen) Hinz, JoAnne Johnson, Faye Johnson, Judy Johnson, Sherry Johnson and Dori Lind. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Kaare and Pauliene Aasen; and great-grandparents, Alvin and Anna Haga. Friends may call at the Fulkerson Funeral Home in Williston on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 from 12 pm to 7 pm and an hour prior to services at the church in Ray.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
