Summary: Adeline Aasheim, 89, Bottineau, ND, died October 25, 2008, in a Bottineau hospital. Funeral services were held October 28, 2008, at the Grace Lutheran Brethren Church in Bottineau. Officiating at the service was the Reverend Kevin Patch. Ruth Fylling was the organist. Casket bearers were Robert Tonneson, Rollin Tonneson, Lyle Schei, Daniel Aasheim, Loren Bernstein and Myron Hayhurst. Burial was at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau. Adeline Aasheim, a daughter of Jacob and Nora (Mastvelten) Schei, was born on April 23, 1919, on the family farm north of Carbury, ND. She attended country school for one year and then attended grade school and high school in Carbury. Following her graduation, she was employed at Slorby’s Photography Studio in Minot. On November 12, 1939, she married Arthur Aasheim at the Inherred Lutheran Church near Carbury. They lived on the Aasheim farmstead and farmed with Arthur’s brother, Louis for a year. In 1940, they purchased land in Peabody and Haram Townships. They made their home there for 62 years, raising cattle and grain farming until their retirement. They spent 22 winters in Arizona. Arthur passed away on January 3, 2004.Adeline was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and later Grace Lutheran Brethren Church in Bottineau and was active in the ladies organizations at both churches. She was an active volunteer at the Souris schools. She was also a member of the Peabody Township Homemakers. She enjoyed traveling and traveled to Norway with Arthur and their daughters in 1989. She is survived by 2 daughters, Carmen and her husband, Fred Welscher of Holmen, WI, and LeAnn and her husband, Doug Bair of Colorado Springs, CO; 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Loren Schei.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
