Summary: LaVerne Aeschliman, 82, Bismarck, ND died June 21, 2009, at the Medcenter One Mandan Care Center, Mandan, ND. Services were held at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck, with Rev. Dale Nabben officiating. Burial was held in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. LaVerne was born on September 29, 1926, in McCanna, ND, the daughter of Martin and Julie (Storkson) Nelson. She grew up and attended school in Grand Forks, ND. LaVerne married Russell Aeschliman on June 28, 1947, in Warren, MN. They moved to Bismarck in 1978. LaVerne enjoyed being with her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She loved to cook and bake for her family. The family had many favorite foods. LaVerne enjoyed playing cards and completing crossword puzzles. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, and finding time each day to watch Wheel of Fortune. LaVerne found time to regularly meditate and read her Bible. LaVerne is survived by one son and two daughters, David (Anna Marie) Aeschliman, Mandan, Jeannie (Creig) Antliff, Calgary, Alberta, and Julie (Blane) Braunberger, Mandan; brother, James (Darleen) Nelson, Seattle, WA; five grandchildren, Lance Aeschliman (fiance, Melanie), Mandan, Chari (Kelly) Brennan, Aberdeen, SD, Brandon (Nikki) Braunberger, Glen Ullin, ND, Brittany (Dustin) Baker, Mandan, and Spencer Wooley, Calgary,Alberta; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters, Mildred and Molly; and her brothers, Odeal, George, Bert, Vernail, Leonard, and Carl.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
