Summary: Tom Aichele Sr., 72, Baldwin, joined his beloved wife Margo in heaven February 1, 2007. Services were held Tuesday, February 6 at Eastgate Chapel, Bismarck with the Rev. Paul Schauer officiating. Burial was in the Sunne Lutheran Cemetery, Wilton. Tom was born June 26, 1934 in McClusky, ND, son of Alvina Aichele (Phiefer) and Edwin Aichele. The family moved from McClusky in the 1940s to Bismarck where Tom grew up and attended school. Tom served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Tom went on to attend Bismarck Junior College where he played football and then Graduating from Valley City State College where he was All-Conference Tackle in football. He also attended the University of North Dakota. He married Margo Strand March 11 1960, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck. They moved to Northwood for three years where Tom taught school before returning to live in Bismarck. They managed the Bismarck Airport Café and Bar until buying a farm in Baldwin, where they operated a large dairy farm. After getting out of the dairy business Tom went back to teaching at Solen, Cannonball and Fort Yates until retiring in the spring of 2006. Of all the things he cherished most was spending time with his grandson Dustin. They spent a lot of time fishing and pheasant hunting together and training their new dog along with just bumming around and spending a lot of time together on different projects such as bees and raising trees. Tom is survived by one son Tom Jr., and one grandson Dustin both of Baldwin; one brother, Burt of St.Anthony and several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margo; his parents and his sister, Muriel.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
