Summary: William Albrecht, 78, Bismarck, died December 30, 2005, peacefully at his home. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 4 at Eastgate Funeral Service Chapel in Bismarck with the Rev. Dick Elefson officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. William was born on June 7, 1927, in Temvik, North Dakota, the son of Fred and Katherine (Layer) Albrecht. He was raised and attended school in Temvik. William married Dorothy Welch on March 11, 1950, in Linton, North Dakota. William worked at various places during his lifetime including the shipyards in Seattle, Washington, Four Bears Bridge in New Town, the Garrison Dam, Coast to Coast, Sweetheart Bakery, and 7-Up. He managed Standard Oil Truck Stop in Sterling, then moved to Beach with Standard Oil, and later moved to Bismarck with Husky Oil in 1965. William later owned and operated Husky Truck Stop and Restaurant until his retirement in 1988. William was one of the most honest men you would run across in your lifetime. Family was very important to him and he lived life to the fullest. His family came from Germany and Russia and they believed in the freedoms the United States offered. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and watching nature. William is survived by four daughters, Constance Albrecht, Sharon and her husband, Jim Kuntz, Candy Stearns, and Penny and her husband, John "Butch" Olson; one son, Dean and his wife, Terri; eight grandchildren, Chris, Amy, Taralee, Kim, Jason William, Marlowe, Allicyn, and Riley; eleven great grandchildren, Meriah, Autumn, Kalen, Kallie, Mason, Chase, Tyler, Ryan James, Max, Alex, and Charlie; and one sister, Martha Shepersky. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy on September 4, 2002; his parents; his son, Danny; his granddaughter, Randi Rae; his brothers, John, Alfred, and Edward; and his sisters, Emma Rogers, Katie Stone, and Freda Schmierer.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
