Summary: Daniel Albright, 98, Steele, ND, died February 21, 2009. Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Steele, with Rev. Jacob DeBoer officiating. Daniel (Albrecht) Albright was born November 1, 1910 on the Albrecht family farm south of Tappen, ND. He was the youngest of the seven children of John and Barbara (Kapp) Albrecht. He was raised in the area and attended Peace Township School through the 8th grade. On Feb 21, 1935, he married Martha Kapp in Steele. At that time, they established their residency in Steele. During the early 1950s, Dan and Martha owned the Northside Grocery Store. Dan also worked construction for Northern Improvement, the State Highway Department, the State Historical Society, Froeschle Construction of Bismarck, and Brezina Construction of Rapid City, SD. Dan was a skilled carpenter and in the mid 1960s, he was employed by the Boeing Company. He worked for Boeing for several years during the installation of the Minuteman Missiles. During this time of employment, he worked in Grand Forks, ND and Minot, ND. In 1971 the Boeing Company transferred him and he and Martha moved to Rapid City, SD and then onto Cheyenne, WY. He was transferred back to Minot where he continued his employment. In November of 1975 he retired from the Boeing Company. In April of 1976, he and Martha returned to Steele and re established their residency there. He enjoyed working with wood and made several picture frames from old, weathered wood that he was very proud of. He spent many hours in his workshop working on various wood projects. In March 2002, Dan moved to the Golden Manor Nursing Home in Steele where he resided until his death on February 21, 2009. Dan is survived by three children, Luverne (Bernice) Albright, Bismarck, Linda (George Thomason) Albright, Minot, and Jody (Dennis) Haugen, Wichita, KS; four grandchildren, Trev (Angela) Albright, Minot, Dustin Albright, Bismarck, Darcy Albright, Bismarck, and Alicea Haugen, Wichita, KS; three great grandchildren, Taran and Cambree Albright, Minot, and Alexander Albright, Bismarck. Dan is also survived by one step grandson, Michael (Sonja) Thomason and three step great-grandsons, Michael, Blake and Rhett Thomason all of Valdosta, GA; sister-in-law, Emma Miller of Vancouver, WA; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; his parents, John and Barbara Albrecht; his brother, Dave; and his five sisters, Katherine Hagel, Christina Schumaker, Rose Weippert, Mary Roemmich, and Lydia Roemmich.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
