Summary: LaVonne Allard, age 52 of Willow City, ND died on October 15, 2009 at a Rugby hospital. Funeral services were held at the First Lutheran Church in Willow City. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, also of Willow City. Officiating at the service was the Reverend Tim Solberg and Wally Fretland. The organist was Martha Larson. Honorary bearers were all friends and family. Casket bearers were Daryl Heiden, Larry Haman, Mitch Guss, Rick Gottbreht, Dave Hanson and Tom Haugo. LaVonne Allard, a daughter of Norman and Margaret (Jensen) Getzlaff, was born on March 1, 1957 at Bottineau. When she was eight she moved with her family to Willow City where she attended school and graduated from Willow City High School. On October 24, 1975 she was married to Duaine Allard at Willow City. She worked at Maggie’s Drive-In for a time. She worked as a cook for six years at the Willow City Public School. LaVonne also worked for several area businesses. For the past seven years she had been a rural mail carrier for Willow City. She enjoyed cooking, camping, bowling, painting, gardening and especially spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Duaine; three daughters, Jessica Allard (Scott Monson) of Bottineau, Lindsey (Chadley) Lorenz of Williston and Brittany Allard of Bismarck, ND; two sons, Riley (Stacy)Allard, and Tayler Allard, both of Willow City; four grandchildren, MacKenzie Allard, Keagen Allard, Kadynce Allard and Rylan Lorenz; and two stepgrandchildren, Nick Monson and Riley Monson; two brothers, Jerome (Judy) Getzlaff, and Ardell Getzlaff, both of Cleveland, NC; a sister, Sherry (Darwin) Bullinger of Gillette, WY; parents, Norman and Margaret Getzlaff of Bottineau; sisters-in law, Betty (Ronald) Hienz of Overly, ND, Carol Buxbaum of Sidney, MT, and Mary (Laurel) Hiatt of Bottineau; brothers-in-law, Kenny (Nancy) Allard of Long Lake, ND, Larry (Dawn) Allard of Dunseith, ND, Clayton (Diane) Allard of Long Lake and Don Henes of Mohall, ND; Bailey her dog, and Mittens and Oscar, her cats. LaVonne was preceded in death by her grandparents; sister, LeAnn Getzlaff; mother-in-law, Olivine Allard; and sister-in-law, Karen Henes.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
