Summary: Arvid Anderson, 61, of Williston, ND died August 21, 2010,at St. Mary’s Hospital, Mayo Clinic at Rochester, MN. His funeral was celebrated August 28, 2010, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Williston. Rev. Christopher Raiford officiated and interment followed in Riverview Cemetery, Williston. On December 6, 1948, Arvid was born to Raymond and Ruby (Severts) Anderson in Williston. Arvid graduated from Ray High School with the Class of 1967. From 1967-68 he attended the plumbing and heating trade school at Wahpeton State School of Science. In 1968 he moved to Glendive, MT and worked for Wagner Plumbing and Heating and returned to work there from 1972-78 after a stint in the Army. In July of 1968 he married Roxy Kindel, and together they had three sons. In 1969 Arvid was drafted into the US Army, and completed his basic training at Fort Lewis, WA, and was later stationed in Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. After serving in Erlangen, Germany from 1970-72, he was honorably discharged in 1972. From 1978-81 he was the owner of Anderson Plumbing and Heating in Williston. He returned to Glendive from 1981-85 to establish and run AA Construction. From 1985 until 1994 Arvid worked as the Director of Plant Maintenance at Mercy Hospital in Williston. While working at Mercy Hospital he met his beloved future wife, Carol Hanson. They were married on April 23, 1988, when they joined Arvid's three sons and Carol's daughter. Arvid started Autos R Us which he operated from 1995-2005 until selling to Ryan Motors. He then concentrated on his real estate investments, most notably the location housing Quiznos. Arvid was most certainly a jack of all trades. He thoroughly loved being with family and friends. He loved the holidays, going to the lake, jet skiing, driving his Corvette and motorcycle, barbequing, and watching the History Channel. He also enjoyed going to the races, being outdoors, wrestling with the grandkids, and loved Carol's cooking (except mac ‘n' cheese and tomato soup)! Arvid was an inspiration to all who knew him. His motto was: "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got." Surviving Arvid are his wife, Carol of Williston; son, Duane (Melissa) Anderson of Bismarck, ND and their children, Shaye, Ashton, and Rylee; daughter, Crystal Hanson of Williston and her daughter, Courtney; son, Kory Anderson of Billings, MT and his son, Jesse; and son, Shane (Beth) Anderson of Highlands Ranch, CO and their children, Kaden, Casey and Kuper. He is also survived by his sister, Myra Carlson of Williston; brother, Dennis (Gerri) Anderson of Bismarck; sister, Arlene (Richard) LaBere of Kalispell, MT; brothers, Eugene (Kelly) of Tioga, ND, and Rodney (Mary) of Ray, ND; and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Raymond Anderson, and a brother-in-law, Gayle Carlson.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
