Summary: Lloyd S. Anderson, 92, a longtime Arnegard, N.D., resident, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 2, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Wilmington Lutheran Church in Arnegard. Pastor Tim Swenson officiated, and interment followed at Spring Grove Cemetery, rural Arnegard. Friends may share memories and condolences with the family online at www.fulkersons.com. Lloyd S. Anderson was born on April 25, 1918, to Mikal and Bertina (Svenheim) Anderson. He was born and raised on the family homestead, and was the youngest of four children. As a young man, Lloyd carried the mail for the community on horseback. In those days, the mailman carried more than just mail as people often ordered their groceries, and even salt blocks for their cattle, that he had to try to balance on the back of the horse. He spent his life devoted to his family and the farm and ranch. He spent his whole life in McKenzie County except for a short time that he spent in the state of Washington working as a welder in the shipyards. Lloyd was married to Julia Felland at Culbertson, Mont., on May 25, 1945. They established their home and raised their four children on the family farm south of Arnegard. They had been married for 59 years when Julia died on June 22, 2004. He took great pride in his farming and the cattle that he raised. Being very mechanically minded, he often spent his time fixing and making improvements to the machinery he used. He also enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to hunting season every year. In later years, he took up woodworking and was well known for his wood pen sets, and enjoyed showing off his “special projects” to his friends and neighbors. Lloyd was a very community- minded person and served on many boards in the community, including two school boards, Zoar Lutheran Church Council, the elevator board, and the McKenzie Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. He always enjoying visiting with people. He took great pleasure in being part of the 10½ Club in Arnegard, as well as being an active part of the Arnegard Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia; his parents; one sister, Margaret Stenslie; and two brothers, Burton Anderson and Art Anderson. Lloyd is survived by three sons and one daughter: Lloyd and his fiancé, Judy Gette, of Fargo, N.D.; Eileen Quibell of West Fargo, N.D.; Raymond and his wife, Charlotte, of Trout Creek, Mont.; and Mike and his wife, Marlys, of Arnegard, N.D.; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His last years were enlightened by his special friend, Eunice Hagen, and his dog, Tuffy.

The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
