Summary: Anders G. Anderson, 89, a lifelong rural Williston area resident, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 6, 2008, at the Mercy Medical Center in Williston, ND. His funeral was celebrated Monday morning, August 11, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at West Prairie Lutheran Church, west of Williston. Rev. Tim Solberg officiated and interment followed in the Riverview Cemetery, Williston. Anders Anderson was born August 16, 1918 the son of Albert and Selma (Gustafson) Anderson in Round Prairie Township, Williams County. He was raised and educated in Round Prairie Township. Anders served in the United States Army from May of 1942 until October of 1945, during World War II. He was stationed on the Aleutian Islands, Alaska. He was honorably discharge October 21, 1945. Anders returned to the Williston area and hired out as a farm hand for a local farmer, later purchasing the land. On March 28, 1946, he was united in marriage to Dolores (Dody) Brown at the old First Lutheran Church in Williston. They established their home in Round Prairie Township where they lived, farmed, and ranched. He was a member of the West Prairie Lutheran Church. He was a life member of the Williston Moose Lodge, American Legion and Fort Buford Odd Fellows Lodge #18 ( I.O.O.F. ). Anders is survived by his three sons, Kenneth and his wife, Judy of Spokane, WA and their children, Keni Lynn Campbell of Juneau, AK and Kara Britt Czernik of Spokane, WA; son, Duane and his wife, Nancy, and their children, Don Olson and Lauri Heller all of Williston, ND; son, Dan and his wife, Marlene of Williston, ND and their children, Jodi Tveit of Bothell, WA, Roger Tjelde of Tacoma, WA and Tiffany Enno of Williston, ND; thirteen greatgrandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Anderson of Williston, ND, Arnold (Buddy) Anderson of rural Williston, ND and John Gustafson of Littleton, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dolores; a daughter, Andrea Anderson.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
