Summary: Eunice Marion Anderson, 93, Bismarck, died February 16, 2007 at her home. Services were held Thursday, February 22 at First Lutheran Church, Bismarck with Rev. Allen Wagner officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Eunice was born July 19, 1913 in Mandan, ND, the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Anderson) Carlson. She graduated from Mandan High School in 1933. While in school, she worked summers at a convenience store in Minneapolis, MN. She married Loren Jarvis Anderson on October 26, 1934. Eunice and Vonny Young operated Sally’s Gift Shop and opened the GP Gift Shop. Eunice managed the Bismarck Hospital Gift Shop for five years and also worked eight sessions of the North Dakota Legislature. Eunice was a member of First Lutheran Church and served as Treasurer of UCL for four years. Eunice was a candidate for Mrs. North Dakota, past President of Burleigh County Republican Women, Apple Creek Country Club Auxiliary and Missouri Slope Shrine Hospital Auxiliary. She was honored by Potentate Dean Bard as the El Zagal Lady of the Year 2001 for outstanding service to the Shrine organization. Eunice enjoyed cooking for her family and her many friends and compiled a cookbook of favorite recipes. She also enjoyed playing bridge, belonging to several bridge clubs and marathons; bowling and her lake home. Eunice and Loren were contestants on Truth or Consequences on national television and appeared on the Lawrence Welk Show. Eunice and Loren shared their home for 24 years with Eunice’s sister, Julia Carlson. Eunice is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Darlene Anderson, Bismarck, ND; her two sons, Jarvis and wife, Gerry, Reno, NV and DuWayne and wife, Karen, Broomfield, CO; her three granddaughters, Jenni Reid, Citrus Heights, CA, Kandace (Jesse) Carnathan, Seattle, WA, and Krystal Anderson, Broomfield, CO; her grandsons, Kevin Schneider, Bismarck, ND and Robert Anderson, Kelsey, CA; her great-grandchildren; her brother, Raymond (Doris) Carlson, Mandan, ND and several nieces and nephews. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Loren; her sister, Julia and her three brothers, Archie, Harlan and Waldo.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
