Summary: June R. Anderson, 87, of Arnegard, ND, more recently of the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Watford City, ND, died March 31, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home. Funeral services were held at April 4, 2009 at the Wilmington Lutheran Church in Arnegard; Rev. Tim Swenson officiated and interment followed at the Spring Grove Cemetery south of Arnegard June Rose Anderson was born June 12, 1921 to John and Pauline (Hersrud) Torstenson on the family farm near Arnegard, North Dakota. She was raised on the family farm and educated in country schools. On December 19, 1941 she was united in marriage to Oswald Kjilbak at Fairview, MT. To this union their daughter Beverly was born. Oswald was killed in action on October 22, 1944 during World War II while in the Leyte Islands in the Philippines. On October 25, 1945 June was united in marriage to Arthur Anderson at Wolf Point, MT. The couple established their home in Red Wing Township. They added three children to their family: Donald, Arnold, and Melody. The family continued to live in Red Wing Township where they raised their family. Arthur passed away on June 9, 1974. June enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables which she would can. She also enjoyed bird watching. She liked the animals that lived around the farm and would often feed the birds, deer, and raccoons that would wander into their yard. She loved playing whist and was very competitive in the game. She was a member of Wilmington Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway. June is survived by her daughters, Beverly Marthaller of Dickinson, ND and Melody Cannon of Palm Harbor, FL; sons, Arnold Anderson of Arnegard, and Donald (Leitha) Anderson of Gillette, WY; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and sister, Adeline Nordeng of Watford City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oswald; husband, Arthur; brothers, Henry and Arthur; sisters, Helen and Pauline; and grandson, Shane.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
