Summary: Lorraine Vernice Anderson, 81, Bismarck, died at a Boise, Idaho care center on Monday, March 14, 2005. Services were held at 11 AM Saturday, March 19, at Eastgate Funeral Service Chapel, Bismarck, the Rev. Laurie Natwick officiated with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Lorraine was born on June 1, 1923 in Osnabrock, ND and was the daughter of Clarence and Hilda (Rusten)Johnson. She was raised and educated in Milton, and graduated from high school in 1942. She attended Minot Business Institute for one year. She marriedAlvin L. Anderson in March of 1944, and lived in Minot, ND for a couple of years before moving to Seattle, Washington, where her husband worked for the railroad. They returned to Bismarck shortly after their first daughter, Shirley was born, and had the rest of their six children in Bismarck. They started KBMR Radio in 1963. She spent most of her life in Bismarck and attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Lorraine worked with her husband, Andy, as a secretary and receptionist for many years. Her loyalty and commitment to Andy and his business was steadfast throughout the years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her six children, grandchildren and her many close friends. She enjoyed many summers at their home in Flathead Lake, Montana, where children and grandchildren often gathered. She is survived by her six children, Shirley Bachmeier, San Antonio, TX, Sharon Farrell, Boise, ID, Dennis Anderson, Polson, MT, Donald Anderson, Red Feather Lake, CO, Darrell Anderson, Bismarck, ND, and Sharlene Steverding, Spokane, WA; two sisters, Betty Pfefer, Pleasanton, CA and Doris Beneke, Denver, CO; one brother, Larry Johnson, Bismarck, ND; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin L. Anderson; and her parents, Clarence and Hilda Johnson.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
