Summary: Lynn Daryl Anderson, 60, of Las Vegas, NV and formerly of Williston and Tioga, ND, passed away Oct. 2, 2007 at a Las Vegas hospital. A memorial service celebrating his life was held Saturday, October 13, 2007, at the First Lutheran Church in Tioga, with Pastor James Hamann officiating. Lynn was born Oct. 5, 1946, in Williston, N.D., the first of three children to Nels and Myrtle (Syverson) Anderson. At a young age, his family moved Poplar, MT, but he returned to Tioga, N.D., each summer to assist his aunt and uncle with work on the family farm. His junior year, Lynn returned to Williston and attended Williston Senior High School, where he played lineman on the football team and graduated in 1965. From there, he moved to Las Vegas in 1969, and began working for the Las Vegas Transfer and Storage. In 1981, he was hired by the Las Vegas Valley Water District, and over the years, he worked his way up to lead valve operator. Taking pride in his work, Lynn enjoyed every moment at the Water District and made many lasting friendships. He retired in 2005, but continued to take on projects for his church, as well as, donating his time and money to repair equipment for the Physical Therapy Unite at Summerlin Hospital. He took pleasure in activities like hunting, fishing, and exploring the back country of Utah. Most of all, Lynn enjoyed supplying endless entertainment through hisextravagant stories and endless stream of practicaljokes. His humor always preceded him. For those who knew and loved him, his gregarious disposition and effervescent presence will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Nels Anderson. Lynn is survived by his son, Lynn Hove and his wife, Raye, of Trenton; daughter, Sharlyn Anderson of Las Vegas; son, Eric Anderson of North Las Vegas, and son, Jeff Anderson of Las Vegas; his mother, MyrtleAnderson of Williston, ND; his sister, Gaylene Peterson and her husband, Greg, of Williston, ND; his brother, Lee Anderson and his wife, Jan, of Grand Rapids, MN; his grandchildren, Samantha, Gracie andVerlyn Hove of Trenton, ND and Sean Anderson of Las Vegas; and three nieces and two nephews. Services were also held Oct. 6th, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Las Vegas.
