Summary: George Joseph Andrusak, 77, Bismarck, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2007 while a resident at the Underwood Nursing Home after a courageous battle with cancer. Cremation has taken place. A private family service was held at Eastgate FuneralService, Bismarck with Rev. Paul Schauer officiating. Burial was in Sunne Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Wilton. George was born October 16, 1929, in Wilton, ND, toWasyle and Mary Andrusak. He attended school in Wilton where he received his high school diploma. He served honorably in the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran. George was a member of the Local 49ers Union and the American Legion. In November 1957, he married his wife of 50 years, Lois (Hedstrom) Bucholz in Washburn. Over the years they made their home in Wilton, Washburn and Bismarck until retiring in 1994. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, including gardening. One of George’s greatest joys was helping others. George is survived by his wife, Lois of Bismarck; one daughter, Sheila Grube of Valley Herd, AL; two stepsons, Greg (Darcy) Bucholz of Rockford, IL and Rick(Julie) Bucholz of Bismarck, ND; three brothers, Fred and John of Riverside, CA and Steve of Bismarck, ND; three sisters, Pauline Olson of Underwood, ND, Olga Danielson of Longmont, CO and Ann Cleveland of Puyallup, WA and five grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
