Summary: Marilyn Anseth, a longtime Williston, ND, resident, lately of Boulder, CO, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, CO. She was 60. A memorial service was held Friday May 19, 2006 at the First Lutheran Church, with Pastor Norman Anderson officiating. Marilyn L. Anseth was born April 21, 1946 at Williston, ND the daughter of Sidney and Helen (Ossing) Berhow. She attended and graduated from Williston High School in 1964. She subsequently attended college at Concordia University and the University of North Dakota. On June 22, 1965, Marilyn married her soul mate Howard L. Anseth at First Lutheran Church in Williston. They lived a number of years in the Minneapolis area and started their family. To be closer to family and friends, they returned to North Dakota in 1974 and made their home in Williston in 1976. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and throughout her life she extended a generous kindness and thoughtful caring that touched many individuals. When her children went to college, she pursued a career alongside her husband in the oil and gas business. They enjoyed traveling the country and working together closely. After the death of Howard, she relocated to Colorado and worked as an Administrative Assistant, being ‘mother’ to the graduate students in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Marilyn is survived by her mother, Helen Berhow of Williston; her brother, Robert Berhow of Bozeman, MT; her daughter and her husband, Siri and Steve Njos and two grandchildren, Emily and Jakob Njos ofLouisville, KY; her daughter and her husband, Kristi Anseth and Christopher Bowman and grandson, Caleb Bowman of Boulder, CO; her daughter and her husband, Tricia and Scott Steffan and two grandchildren, Tate and Kenady Steffan of Grand Forks, ND; and her son, Jay Anseth of Boston, MA. She is further survived by many other relatives and wonderful friends.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
