Summary: Elaine Arcand, 62, a longtime Williston resident, passed away Thursday night, May 11, 2006, at the Mercy Medical Center in Williston, ND. Her Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday morning, May 19, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Williston, with Father Raymond Aydt officiating. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery. Elaine was born October 3, 1943 to Vernon and Mary Jane (Morin) Ruckle in Belcourt, North Dakota. Her family later moved to Williston where she attended school and graduated from Williston High School in 1962. On July 14, 1964, she was united in marriage to Larry Arcand in Williston and later had four children. They established their home in Williston and lived there through all of the many succeeding years. During her life, Elaine worked for Bethel Home. In1972, Elaine helped establish TISA, Serving Area and she become the first CHR coordinator in 1975. She then moved to the financial billing department in 1976. In 1977, she and her husband established Arcand Rain Gutter Service. Elaine worked at Mercy Hospital from 1979 until 1991 in the admitting department. In 1995, her health started to decline and she was unable to work. Elaine enjoyed watching the races, having her grandchildren around, and loved hockey. Elaine is survived by her four children, daughter, Michelle Alexander of Williston; sons, Craig Arcand of Williston, Doug Arcand of Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Tony Arcand; eleven grandchildren; sisters, Linda Olson of Minot, ND, Margaret Munger of Verndale, MN, Donna Gruenberg of Sartell, MN, Inez Doehler of Perth, ND, Rena McDaniel of Munich, ND; a brother, Aldon Ruckle of Fortana, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents; sister, Annette; a brother; and granddaughter, Mickal Ann.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
