Summary: Inez E. Arnson, 91, a longtime Williston resident, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008, at the Bethel Lutheran Home in Williston, ND. Her funeral was celebrated Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at First Lutheran Church in Williston, with Rev. Martin Mock officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery. Inez E. Lee was born on September 3, 1916 on the family farm in Hebron Township of Williams County, ND to Ole and Mary (Sundby) Lee. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke’s Church, attended Pioneer School and graduated from Williston High School in 1934. As a young lady, she did house work for a family and worked at Andy’s bakery. She was united in marriage to Ernest A. Arnson at the First Lutheran Parsonage in Williston on June 14, 1936. They established their home in Williston, which remained their home throughout the many succeeding years until Ernest’s passing on February 7, 1989. Through the years Inez enjoyed the many visits from family returning home to Williston or her visits to their homes. Inez eventually entered the Bethel Lutheran Home in January of 2006. She very much enjoyed making new friends, reuniting with old friends, and partaking in all the many activities at the Bethel Home. Mrs. Arnson was a member of the First Lutheran Church where she served on the Altar Committee. She also taught Sunday school, served on W.E.L.C.A, helped in various positions in the church, and quilted for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Merle) Heller of Wauwatosa, WI and Lorna Hodgin of Portland, OR; eight grandchildren, fourteen great- grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; one brother, Raymond Lee of Williston; two sisters, Ruth Haugen of Williston and Helen Flaten of Carpio, ND; and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Phyllis Renner; six sisters, Ines Lee, Otelia Hillstead, Karen Arnson, Mabel Aafedt, Ella Nelson, and Mae Gjorven; three brothers, Oscar, Ingeva and Art Lee; and her parents.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
