Summary: James (Jim) Ronald Arnson, 64, of Denver, CO, formerly of Williston, ND, died suddenly on June 14, 2009 in Hazen, ND. His memorial service was held July 8, 2009 at the First Lutheran Church Chapel in Williston. Rev. Martin Mock officiated and interment took place at St. Luke Cemetery, west of Williston. Jim was born in Williston, to Beartle and Eleanor (Lund) Arnson on December 4, 1944. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and attended Pioneer Grade School, west of Williston, and graduated from Williston High School in 1964. While Jim attended high school in Williston, he lived with his cousin Donny (Ann) Arnson. Upon graduation, Jim went to work in the oil fields of North Dakota, Wyoming, and California. He worked for a time doing road construction in Rapid City, SD, and then was employed by Montgomery Wards Company in Denver until the company closed its doors. Jim then went back to doing road construction in the Denver area. Jim was a member of the Teamsters Local 435 from 1971 to 2002. For the past three summers, he helped out at the Neale Edwards Ranch in Hazen. For the past several years in Denver, Jim lived with his close friend, Tim Hendrickson. Tim was a close friend to Jim and his family. In 1981, Jim married Pam Pepper. They made their home in the Denver area. Two children were born to this union, a son, Wayne Scott, on August 19, 1984 and a daughter, Ashley Ann, on June 25, 1986. Jim was a very good father and loved to take his children traveling. They were the joy of his life. Jim was always willing to give someone in need a helping hand. He was planning a trip back to Williston in July to visit classmates, friends and relatives, including his cousin Donny, with whom he was very close. Surviving Jim are his children, Wayne and Ashley Arnson of the Denver, CO area; one sister, Anita Lozdon of Lawndale, CA; his former wife, Pam of Denver; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceding Jim in death are his parents, Beartle and Eleanor Arnson; his brother, Wayne in 1956; his grandparents, Jens and Bena (Jacobson) Lund and Ellef and Anna (Johnson) Arnson.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
