Summary: Regina Axtman, 82, a longtime Williston resident, passed away Wednesday morning, September 5, 2007, at the Bethel Lutheran Home in Williston, North Dakota. Her Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church by Father Raymond Aydt. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery. Regina Reiger was born November 24, 1924 to Michael and Helen (Wolfe) Reiger in Orrin, ND. She was raised in Pierce County, ND and received her education in the Sandal School District. On October 16, 1946 Regina was united in marriage to Leo Axtman in Orrin. Throughout the years Regina dedicated herself to Leo and their children, and worked as a waitress during this time. She and Leo enjoyed spending time together socializing with their friends. Regina is survived by her husband, Leo, of Williston; her sons, Robert Axtman and his wife, Arla, of Santee, CA and Mike Axtman of San Diego, CA; her daughters, Linda Kellel of Williston, Kathy Barndt of Minneapolis, MN, Lee Ann Johnson and her husband, Lenny, Sr, and Shirley Axtman, all of Williston; her brothers, Joe and Martin Reiger, both of Williston; two sisters, Christine Heintz of Hutchinson, MN and Delores Fugleberg of Poway, CA; nine grandchildren, Lynn Stevens, Steve Kellel, Colt Treffry, Mike Vance, Kris Barndt, Michelle Rieschl, Lenny Johnson, Jr., Cheree Johnson and Jordan Johnson; and ten great-grandchildren, Blaine Stevens, Ashley Stevens, Jonathon Kellel, Katie Anderson, Tyson Oster, Tyler Brandenburger, Adriana Brandenburger, Shawn Brandenburger, Mikah Johnson and Skyler Pederson. Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Fred and Philip Reiger.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
