Rich was born on August 27, 1946 (the youngest of seven children) at Harvey, ND, to John and Selma (Wagner) Bachmeier. Rich was an avid car buyer. From his first car (turquoise and white) 57 Chevy to his last truck (white) 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. He took pride in each of the 75 vehicles he has owned.
