Summary: Kc was born July 2, 1984 in Minot ND. He had the distinction of attending both Souris and Westhope public schools. As a football player, he was selected to the All-Region team his senior year. That same year he journeyed with his local FFA chapter to Louisville. Kc graduated with the class of 2002. After high school Kc furthered his education at MSU Bottineau. During his time there he was employed at Newburgers, but still managed to find time to help out on the family farm. In 2004 he received his two year liberal arts degree. After college Kc could not break free from the call of the out doors and chose to remain in the Bottineau area. He spent the majority of his leisure time hunting where upon he netted himself a wide array of trophies. Kc loved the exhilaration from the wind in his face as he rode down the open road on his motorcycle. He also enjoyed hanging out with his buddies; it was rare a day went by without his cell phone ringing and him heading off to a social event. Amateur photography and cinematography found themselves a part of his recreational activities as well. He often mixed his hobbies together, taking various pictures and videos of the great outdoors or social events. Kc passed away November 9, 2006 at his home in rural Souris ND, surrounded by his family. Kc will be deeply missed by his parents Terrance and Stephanie Backman of Souris, his brother Kody Backman, Sara and Samantha Lemke of Fargo, his grandmother Loretta Backman of Bottineau, his aunts Vonda Whetter, Rhonda Ereth, and Penny Backman, his uncles Guy Backman and Ken Ereth, his godparents Robert and Carol Invik, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bud and Gayle Coliton and Harold Backman.
