Summary: Esther Hoffer, 89, died November 17, 2014, at Sanford Care Center off Collins in Mandan, ND. Services were held November 21, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Rebecca Aardahl officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Esther was born February 20, 1925, in Streeter, ND, the daughter of John and Eva (Gienger) Kubler. She was raised and educated in Streeter. Esther graduated from Streeter High School in 1944 and went to work for the Bank of Steele for four years. She married Arnold Hoffer on June 1, 1948, in Streeter. They made their home in Bismarck and Esther went to work for the Bank of North Dakota. Esther and Arnold moved to Williston in 1960, where she worked in retail sales, and lived there until May of 2014. She resided at Valley View Heights Care Center until her death. Esther was a charter member of Glory Day Church in Williston, ND. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and housekeeping, but most of all, she enjoyed following her children in their sporting events. Esther is survived by her three sons, Larry (Nancy), Bismarck, Dennis (Laurey), Bismarck, and Paul (Carla), Chanhassen, MN; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; and 14 siblings.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
