Summary: Barbara Jean Anderson (Barb), 74, passed away in the early morning on August 11th, 2021; After battling many illnesses through her life, she can finally rest in peace.  Family and friends attended a celebration of life gathering at 1pm, Friday, August 20, 2021 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.  Barb was born on October 8h, 1946 to Gerald and Leona Anderson in Grand Forks. She graduated from high school in Grand Forks in 1964.  After graduating, Barb went on to become a cosmetologist.   On June 1st, 1968, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Darryl (Andy) Anderson and together they had three children, James, Michelle, and Jennifer. She then became a stay-at-home mom. Barb and Andy were together for 41 years until Andy lost his battle with cancer in 2009. Barb’s whole heart was for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy will live on through the little hearts she has touched and nurtured, and the adult grandchildren who will integrate her guidance into the rest of their lives.  Her passions were traveling the world, shopping for the best deals and spending time with friends and family.  Our dear feisty Barb will be remembered for many reasons, her spunky and strong personality and her willingness to always speak her mind, but most importantly, for her strength and determination – and how valiantly and courageously she fought to stay with her loved ones for so long.  As hard as it is to say goodbye, she is now having a joyous reunion with her daughter, Michelle and husband, Andy. For that we find comfort and peace. We know they will watch over us and wait for the day when we will all meet again.  Barb is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Kyle) Rinas, Bismarck; her son, James (Ivy) Anderson Bismarck, /Beausejour, MB; six grandchildren, McKenzie (Lance) Kovash Horace, ND, Madison (Jordan) Irmen Bismarck, Seth, Gabriel, and Isaac Anderson, Mason Rinas; one great-grandchild, Bowen Irmen and her brother, Ronald Anderson, Bismarck, plus many more family members and friends. Barb was preceded in death by her husband Andy; daughter, Michelle and her parents, Gerald and Leona.
