Summary: Dorothy Bahley, 93 Dickinson ND passed away January 2, 2018, at St. Lukes Home, Dickinson. Funeral Mass was held January 5, 2018 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Jordan Dosch celebrating. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2018, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, ND. Rosary & Vigil Service: 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018, Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND. Burial took place in the church cemetery. Dorothy was born September 4, 1924, in Dickinson, the daughter of Joseph and Philomena (Faiman) Ficek.  Growing up, she attended school in New Hradec through the eighth grade, graduating in the spring of 1938.  As the oldest, she never attended high school, as she was needed to help care for her younger sisters and baby brother, Wilfred.  Dorothy married Louis Bahley on September 27, 1948.  They were blessed with three children, Colleen, Dean, and Dan.  Dorothy and Louis lived on the farm until October of 1985, when they retired to their new home in Dickinson.  Louis passed away in 1987.  Hawks Point became home for Dorothy in January 2011 and in June 2017, St. Luke’s Home her final home.  Dorothy was a member of St. Wenceslaus Church.  She loved to play whist, crochet, and patchwork quilting, making one for each family member. Dorothy is survived her daughter, Colleen (Paul) Michels of Rochester, MN; sons, Dean (Karla) Bahley of Manning, Dan Bahley of Dickinson; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Kay Michels of Beach. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Philomena Ficek; husband, Louis; sisters, Martha, Georgie, Josie; brothers, Wilfred, Richard and infant brother, Alfred.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
