Summary: Date of Death: October 20, 1966 Jamestown Police Department, Jamestown, ND Age at Death: 29 On August 3, 1966, Officer Ronald E. Trautman was on duty operating a motorcycle. He was driving on Highway 281 on the overpass of 1-94 when he struck the rear section of a tractor trailer fuel transport. Officer Trautman received extensive head and body injuries and was transferred to a hospital in Fargo, North Dakota, where he remained in a coma until his death October 20, 1966. Officer Trautman served with the Jamestown Police Department for six years. He was married and the father of two children.
