Summary: Holger D. Paulson (1887-1963) was the editor of the Fargo Forum for 36 years until 1957, when the paper won a Pulitzer prize for coverage of a Fargo tornado. Paulson was born in Grand Forks. His first job in journalism was as an errand boy for the Grand Forks Plaindealer. He continued working for city newspapers until becoming city editor of the Fargo Forum in 1916. In 1936 he was president of the North Dakota Press Association, and he served as juror on awards of Pulitzer prizes and as a member of the Society of Newspaper Editors Association. He was elected the 15th member of the North Dakota Newspaper Hall of Fame in 1964.

  • You can print the image and its corresponding details by selecting “Print".
  • “Digitized Images from the Collection” returns a list of all digitized items within that collection (available from the “Collection Summary” screen).
