Title: Al Gustin

Summary: Al Gustin was born on November 20, 1947. His legacy in North Dakota farm broadcasting lives on despite his retirement in November of 2012. Al can be recognized as a trusted figure in farm homes across the Midwest and has been since his broadcasting debut; made while still attending college at NDSU. During this chapter of his life, Al worked for KXJB- TV in Fargo before graduating and moving on to broadcast for KFYR-AM and KBMR of Bismarck. He would soon become the farm director for both stations. Prior to his 2012 retirement from broadcasting Al was named “Farm Broadcaster of the Year” by the National Association of Farm Broadcasting. Also included on his long list of noteworthy broadcasting achievements are his twice-awarded Oscars in Agriculture for having the best television farm programming nationwide and his induction into the Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences “Silver Circle.” Al currently resides in Mandan where he spends time with his family on the farm/ranch.
