Summary: In 1962 Dick Voight started his career in the radio industry in Madison, WI. In 1965 he was transferred to KATE Radio in Albert Lea, MN, and within just six months was promoted to general manager. There, he became part of a group called Communication Properties (CPI) where he would serve as manager, as well as acquire part ownership of various stations located in Green Bay, Dubuque, Cedar Rapids, Boise, Albert Lea, and Fargo. In 1973 CPI split ways and Dick moved to Fargo where he became manager, and later would become owner of KFGO. Under Dick’s guidance KFGO acquired various awards, including two Peabody Awards, three Marconi Awards, seven Edward R. Murrow Awards, and News Talk Station of the Year. In 2006 he was awarded the North Dakota Broadcaster of the Year and received the Pioneer Award.
