Summary: Charley Johnson is the current President and CEO of the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau (FMCVB). Before his career in tourism, Charley had a career in television. He studied at Concordia College and majored in news and broadcasting. Charley began his career at KNOX radio in Grand Forks before moving to Channel 4 in Fargo. In 1988 Charley switched to KVLY where he not only anchored nightly broadcasts for almost 20 years but also served as news director and, beginning in 1997, general manager. After more than 30 years Charley officially signed off in May 2012. He has been the President and CEO of FMCVB since June 2012 and still is in this position today. Charley has trained and mentored dozens of young broadcast journalists, many of whom now work in larger markets.
