Summary: Bob Denver, a native of Mott, North Dakota spent a cumulative amount of 35 years in the Bismarck/Mandan market. He got into radio part-time in college and never looked back. Denver knew he had found his true calling when he was taken on as a KFYR-AM air personality in 1972. Going into the newfound position Bob knew he wanted to climb the ladder even further and take on an ownership position as soon as he could, as he had continuously said throughout his career, “I don’t like taking orders.” Denver then returned to the Bismarck/Mandan area in 1979 serving as general manager of Y-93. Bob stayed in this position for 16 years working for Meyer Broadcasting. He then proceeded to become an owner/partner/general manager for KBYZ, KCAL, KKCT, and KLXX from 1994-2001. Following this, Bob became general manager for Cumulus Broadcasting for a few years before becoming owner/partner/general manager of a cluster of five other stations over the course of the next couple years. Bob became vice president/general manager of Clear Channel Radio Bismarck/Dickinson, which included stations such as KBMR, KFYR, KQDY, KSSS, KXMR, KYYY, KLTC, KCAD, and KZRX until January 2011. In August that same year, after a summer full of golf and relaxation, Bob truly reached for the stars and created the new MOJO 107.5 from the ground up. He hand-picked all station formatting, consultants involved, facility accommodations, and announcers. He now serves as MOJO Morning Show host (6am-9am weekdays), station General Manager, and sole owner of MOJO 107.5. In 2011 Bob was the recipient of the Pioneer Award, based on his exuberant history and experience within the radio broadcasting industry.
