Summary: Lois Schock, 86, Bismarck, ND, joined her heavenly Father on November 6, 2022. A memorial service was held November 15, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck. Burial will take place at a later date at the Peaceful Valley Cemetery, Amidon, ND. Lois was born to Sigfred and Ollie (Cook) Olson on November 28, 1935, in Bismarck. She attended Turtle Lake Public Schools, and upon graduation she obtained her nursing degree from the Bismarck School of Nursing. She was very proud of her 52-year nursing career. Lois’s greatest love was her family. One of her greatest joys was making the yearly Christmas calendar that everyone would open together and contained the year’s pictures of her children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews. She loved baking throughout the year and always had something in the freezer for family and friends, especially her sugar cookies. Lois enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and making tie blankets. She loved to dine out, socialize with her friends, and attend her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was a grandma to those that were hers and to those who chose her to be. Lois was loved by all. She will be greatly missed by her four children, Jodi (Dennis) Moore, Gladstone, ND, Steven Schock, Rapid City, SD, Paul (Kimberly) Schock and Heidi (Robb) Moore, both of Beulah, ND; two sisters, Katherine (Charles Edward) Tighe, Chariton, IA, and Saundra (Jim) Sibla, Bismarck; 13 grandchildren, Lyndsey (Chad) Erickson, Lacey (Howard) Klingbeil, Jordan (Ivy) Rath, Kelsey (Danny) Anderson, Doug (Jeni) Moore, Brad Moore, Dalton Schock, Nicole Schock, Cody (Megan) Thiel, Kelsey (Cody) Striefel, Kennedy Schock, Brayden Moore, and Carson Moore; numerous great-grandchildren; and her loving second family, Mustafa Kathawala, Sunanda Jain, and Sana, Sameera, and Eshaan Kathawala. Lois was preceded in death by her infant brother; parents, Sigfred and Ollie; and great-granddaughter, Cadence Erickson.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
