Summary: Dwight Everett Teske, 70, Mandan, ND, passed away May 2, 2023, at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND. A funeral service was held May 8, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church in Killdeer, ND, with Pastor Dorothy Stein officiating. Burial was at Oakdale Cemetery. Dwight Everett Teske was born December 12, 1952, to Philip and Lois (Bang) Teske. He spent most of his childhood years in Indiana and Maryland. Dwight graduated from Bowie High School in Bowie, MD, and then continued his education at the University of Maryland where he received a bachelor’s degree in Water Resource Management and Agronomy. After graduating from college he began working in the oilfield; however, it wasn’t until he started working for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) that he found his true passion for work. Dwight worked at a number of locations throughout his thirty years with the NRCS. Spending his working days outside visiting with people all around the state was the favorite part of his career. In 1987 Dwight married Lonnie Overby. They were blessed with two children, Brennan and McKell, who were his greatest joy and always his first priority. Later he became a grandfather to Grady (2017) and Edynn (2018), both of whom sparked a new kind of love in his life. He truly loved spending time with them and teaching them all about life. Dwight will be deeply missed by his family. Dwight had a strong passion for nature; you could always find him outside working in the yard with the family dog by his side or deer-hunting with loved ones. After his retirement in 2013, he enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and to multiple countries. Dwight had a big heart for helping others, always putting everyone’s needs before his. Dwight is survived by his children, Brennan Teske and McKell (Trent Landis) Teske; grandchildren, Grady and Edynn; brother, Brian (Ann) Teske; sisters, Lynnae (Chris) Finseth and Debbie (Billy) Wedin; partner, Christine Kempf; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Lois; and a sister, Pam.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
