Summary: Dale A. Twingley, 74, passed away July 9, 2023. A memorial service was held July 14, 2023, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck, ND. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Dale A. Twingley was born August 5, 1948, in Dickinson, ND, to Alice (Rynning) and Harley Twingley. They made their home in Werner, ND, and later moved to Coleharbor where Dale went to elementary school while his father worked on the construction of the Garrison Dam. After the family moved to Bismarck, Dale attended school and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1966. He graduated from Bismarck Junior College in 1968 with an Associate of Arts degree, Minot State College in 1970 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in art education, and a Master’s degree in art from the University of North Dakota in 1972. Dale loved music and performed with a rock band in high school, The Prisms, and a Folk singing group at BJC called the Greenbriar Singers. He loved playing the guitar and with his talented father, built a 12-string guitar while he attended BJC, which he played with the Greenbriars. Dale married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Heskin, in August of 1969. They were blessed with two sons, Jonathan and Benjamin. Dale spent his career teaching art at Bismarck High School and Century High School. He was an accomplished silk screen printer and also introduced the high schools to clay and pottery. Dale taught for 30 years before retiring. He and Carolyn built a small retirement home in the Ponderosa Riverside Village north of Bismarck off River Road. They never tired of watching the deer, the sunsets and the birds, nor appreciating the quietness of the country and the friendship of neighbors. Dale's legacy lives on in his two sons who both eventually became artists and teachers themselves. He could not have been more proud! He leaves his wife, Carolyn; sons, Jonathan and wife Helen, and Benjamin and Katie; nephews, Lucas Koch and Nathan Mastel; and grandson, Mason. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Alice; as well as his younger sister, Dianne.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
