Summary: Ernestine “Ernie” Voegele, 92, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024, at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, ND. A Mass of Christian Burial was held May 20, 2024, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bismarck. Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck. Ernestine was born to Nick and Anna Sologuk on June 9, 1931 in Wilton, ND. She was raised on the family farm along with her older brother and older sister. She attended school in Wilton and was affectionately known as “Ernie.” Ernie had various jobs as a young, single woman and on February 21, 1957, she married Leonard Voegele in Wilton. Ernie and Leonard built a wonderful life together in the Bismarck area, welcoming two beautiful children, Marc and Marilyn, into their family. They celebrated 65 years of marriage in 2022 before Leonard’s death. She was a loving and devoted mom to her children, proud of her Ukrainian heritage, and an advocate for people with special needs. She was a wonderful daughter to her parents, caring for them in their later years. She was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and lived her life trusting in God. Ernie will be greatly missed by her son, Marc Voegele; her daughter, Marilyn Voegele; along with her sister-inlaw, Lugale Schirber; brother-in-law, Larry (Ina) Voegele; her nieces and nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her parents; her brother, Harry Sologuk; her sister, Alice Burnett, and sister-in-law, Eileen Sologuk.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
