Summary: Charles John “Charlie” Westerso, 67, Williston, ND, passed away January 16, 2024, at the Bethel Lutheran Home in Williston. A memorial service for Charlie was held January 19, 2024, at Bethel Lutheran Nursing & Rehabilitation Home Chapel in Williston. Charlie was laid to rest at the Riverview Cemetery in Williston. Charlie was born August 20, 1956, in Williston to Irene and Johnny Westerso. He attended schools in Williston. Charlie worked at El Rancho in Williston for many years and was a dedicated employee. He knew all the gossip from Alamo to Williston and everywhere in between. He was a kind man and would give anything he had. Charlie had a deep love for children and he always was willing to watch anyone's kids when needed. He then had a child of his own, Eric. Charlie was very excited for Eric to be born but his desire to be a father to his son was overtaken by his addiction. Charlie’s later years were spent in nursing homes due to his health complications. He was a quiet man and kept to himself. If you knew Charlie, you knew his struggles. Let us find solace in the knowledge that he is now at peace and free from the weight of his addiction. Charlie is survived by his son, Eric Croteau, and his brother, Reggie (Gina) Westerso. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Irene Westerso; and brother, Roger Westerso.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
