Summary: Marica “Eagle Woman” White Eagle, 69, Mandaree, ND, passed away January 20, 2023, at the McKenzie Co. Healthcare, Watford City, ND. Her funeral was held January 24, 2023, at Water Chief Hall in Mandaree with Kevin Finley officiating. Burial was in the Congregational Cemetery at Independence, ND. Marcia White Eagle “Maaishu Mia” was born May 16, 1953, in Stanley, ND, to Arnold Thomas and Julia (Charging-Mandan) White Eagle. “Maaishu Mia” was a child of the Maxoadia (Dripping Dirt clan) and a member of the Ciicga (Prairie Chicken clan). Marcia was raised in Independence. Her early childhood days shaped her life through her values, which were compassion for people and the willingness to be a good neighbor which she carried into her adult life. She never wanted to see people struggle. She knew what hardship was growing up in Independence. She would help without being asked and she did not look for pay back. In the 1970s Marcia moved to Mandaree where she resided the rest of her life. She attended Mandaree School up to the 8th grade. Her hobbies were beading and gambling. She enjoyed talking about the simple things in life, spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Marcia was very supportive of her family, relatives, youth, and the Mandaree Community. She always supported youth activities such as fundraisers, basketball, cross country, and track. Marcia married Robert C. Finley. They had five children: Judith, Valarion, Lisa, Arnold, and Roberta. Marcia is survived by her companion of 20 plus years, James “Jim” Moberg; her daughters, Judith (Virgil Sr.) Wilkinson, White Shield, ND, Lisa (Walter Sr.) DeVille, and Roberta White Eagle (Wilbur Hunts Along Sr.), both of Mandaree; grandchildren, Michael (Amanda) DeVille, Thomas (Andrea) DeVille, Jason DeVille, Marea (Hunter) DeVille, Walter DeVille Jr., Molly Wilkinson, Julian Wilkinson, Megan Hunts Along, Wilbur Hunts Along Jr., all from Mandaree, and Julia White Eagle, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Amiah, Kiah, Jasiah, Andre, Grayson (Baby Val), Samira DeVille, Ashtyn Gwin, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, too many to list; her sisters, Gloria Fast Dog and Veronica Serdahl; adopted brothers; Morgan Fettig and Kelly Spotted Bear; and adopted sister, Lyda Bears Tail. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Thomas White Eagle, and Julia (Charging-Mandan) White Eagle; her sons, Valarion Finley and Arnold Finley; grandsons, Baby DeVille and Virgil Wilkinson Jr.; sisters, Judith Ann White Eagle, Lavern Charging-Brady, and Ione Mable Charging; brothers, David Charging Jr., Delphus Charging, Harvey Charging, Jerry Charging, and Reginald Charging, Sr.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
