Summary: Brenda Marie Whitetail, 61, Parshall, ND, began her journey to the spirit world April 10, 2023, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND. Her funeral service was held at the Ft. Totten Rec. Center, Ft. Totten, ND, with burial at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Cemetery at Ft. Totten. Brenda was born November 18, 1961, the daughter of Sanford Whitetail, Sr. and Florence “Rita” Dunn-Whitetail. Brenda was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and cousin to an extended family. She loved her family with all her heart and treasured every moment spent with them. Brenda will be forever missed, forever loved, and forever in our hearts. Brenda is survived by her special friend/companion of 33 years, Dale Crows Breast; daughter, Tamara (Brent), LaToya; adopted son, Geddy Whitetail, and adopted daughter, Rhoda Dunn; brothers, Martin Whitetail, Sr., Mori Whitetail, Sr., and Merle (Maria) Whitetail; sister, Lori (Mark) Faye Whitetail; cousins, Arnie Whitetail, Brian Whitetail, Richard Whitetail, Alberta (Ted) Dunn, Alfreda (Bob) Charboneau, Calvin Dunn, Maynard Dunn, Tayron Dunn, Colleen Alberts, Cora Whiteman, Catalina Herman, John Whiteman, Sr., Quentin BruceWhiteman, Jr., Milo B. Whitetail, Sr., Emerald (Matt) Robertson, Cornell Good Thunder, Willis Whiteman, Jr., Marlon Whiteman, Annette Pacheco, Carol Whiteman, and Donna Corbine; and uncle, Kenneth (Flo) Dunn. Welcoming Brenda home are her parents, Sandford and Rita; brothers, Curtis Youngbear and Sandford, Jr.; grandson, K; maternal grandparents, Martin and Josephine (Ross) Dunn; paternal grandparents; and many relatives.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
