Summary: Randy Stiefel, 68, of Glen Ullin, ND, passed away August 31, 2024, at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND. Funeral services were held September 6, 2024, at Evangelical Congregational Church in Glen Ullin with Pastor David Skjoldal officiating. Burial was at Friendship Cemetery. Randy was born on May 25, 1956. in Garrison, ND, to Dumond and Irene (Wetzel) Stiefel. He grew up in Glen Ullin and was active in football, basketball, and track and graduated in 1974. After high school Randy began working at the Power Plant in Beulah running equipment. Randy also worked for Northern Improvement driving truck. In his later years he worked as a farmhand for different farmers in Glen Ullin. Randy’s love for the outdoors was a defining part of his life whether it was fishing, camping, or hunting. He kept himself busy inside working on puzzles, making model cars, watching old westerns, and sports, especially NASCAR and football. Randy was a collector and spent much time looking for arrowheads and rattlesnake skin. Randy will be remembered for his heart of gold, and his desire to help others, even despite his own two-year battle with cancer. The family would like to thank the staff at Marian Manor Health Care for their wonderful care and kindness that Randy received during his brief stay. Randy is survived by his mother, Irene Schnaidt, of Hebron, ND; sister, Sandy (Donn) Lang, of Bismarck; brothers, Jody Stiefel, of Hebron, and John (Amanda) Schnaidt, of Dickinson, ND; nephew, Jason (Jen) Stiefel, of Minnesota; and nieces, Piper Schnaidt, of Dickinson, and McKenna Akovenko, of Mandan, ND. He was preceded in death by his father, Dumond; stepfather, Adolph Schnaidt; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and infant brother, Richard Stiefel.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
