A funeral Mass was held August 19, 2024, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Belfield, ND, with Father Shane Campbell celebrating. He graduated from Belfield High School in 1969. After graduation, Roger attended Dickinson State College for one year. Roger was a member of the Belfield Knights of Columbus Council 6310, the Eagles, St. Demetrius Catholic Church, and the Billings Co. Volunteer Fire Department. Roger enjoyed planting trees, family gatherings, fishing, camping, and taking care of his cattle, especially during calving and brandings. He loved to socialize and made sure to keep in contact with all his friends, especially his daily phone call with Edwin Cerkoney. Roger will be remembered for his great conversations with family, friends, and neighbors. Roger is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Fairfield; sons, Ryan (John), of Dallas, TX, Kasey (Darnyl), of Fairfield, and Qwain, of Fairfield; grandchildren, Kadyn (Alexis), Danyka (Jayd), Dawsyn, Ella, and Taylor; brother, Gary (Patti) Malkowski, of Dickinson; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
