Summary: Lena Kadrmas, 102, of Dickinson, ND, passed away July 21, 2024, at St. Benedict’s Health Care in Dickinson. Funeral Mass was held July 25, 2024, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Belfield, ND, with Father Shane Campbell celebrating. Inurnment was at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Lena was born on November 19, 1921, a twin with brother Mike, the daughter of George and Mary (Zelinsky) Burian. She attended school in Fayette. Lena married George Kadrmas on December 31, 1943. To this union four children were born, Linda, Larry, Gary and Gailand. Lena and George raised their family on their farm north of Belfield. Lena loved life on her farm, milking cows, tending to her garden and raising chickens. She loved to bake and made fresh bread every Saturday. Lena is survived by her children, Linda Gregory, of Fargo, ND, Gailand (Charlene) Kadrmas, of Fairfield, ND; daughters-in-law, Joanne Kadrmas of Belfield and Patsy Kadrmas of Dickinson; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margie Burian. Lena is preceded in death by her husband, George; parents, George and Mary Burian; children, Gary and Larry Kadrmas; son-in-law, Emil Gregory; brothers, Steve, Laudie, Mike, and Andrew Burian; sisters, Rose Kern, Agnes Fischer, and Margie Grosulak; and two infant siblings.

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
