Summary: Josh Hong, 37, of Dickinson, ND, passed away September 24, 2024, at his parents’ home in Hebron, ND. A funeral service was held October 3, 2024, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with Pastor Mike Pretzer officiating. Joshua Scott Hong was born in Florida on April 27, 1987, to Brad and Brenda (Hall) Hong. He grew up and graduated in Florida, and moved to North Dakota in 2014. Josh had a heart that few could compare with. He cared the most about those who had it the roughest in life. His journey led him to become a corrections officer in the jail system, where he constantly advocated for the visitors he encountered. Josh ensured they were treated fairly, did his best to befriend them, and always treated them with dignity and respect. This was evident by the many letters he received from inmates thanking him for his guidance and kindness. Josh was truly one of a kind and will be missed beyond words. Josh is survived by his parents, Brad and Brenda Hong, of Hebron; son, Jermaine Hong, of Dickinson; step-son, Tyrese Annace, of Montana; brothers, James (Andrea) Hong, of Hebron, Jason (Brittany) Hong, of Florida; and his beloved dog, Moo-Moo. Josh was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ed and Beverly Hong; and maternal grandparents, Richard and Virgie Hall.
