Summary: Eugenia Ida Perzinski, 97, of Dickinson, ND, formerly of South Heart, ND, passed away September 30, 2024, at St. Benedict’s Health in Dickinson, surrounded by her loving and caring family. A funeral Mass was held October 4, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in South Heart with Father Shane Campbell celebrating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Eugenia was born March 30, 1927, in Dickinson to John and Cecilia (Kuntz) Herauf. She was raised on the family farm in Schefield, ND. Eugenia married her sweetheart, Tony Perzinski, on June 27, 1946, at St. Pius Church in Schefield. Together, they took over Tony’s family farm, where they raised their six children: Arnold, Clyde, Karen, Carla, Antoinette, and Jim. Eugenia was a devoted wife and mother, working alongside Tony on the farm. Her faith in God was unwavering. She attended church every Sunday and Holy Day, graced all her meals, and prayed the rosary nightly with her children. Eugenia took great pride in caring for not just her family but everyone around her. She lived her life by attending to others before herself. Her happy place was in the kitchen and garden, where she grew all the vegetables that would be canned to enjoy year-round. Eugenia made soup every Sunday and made sure nobody left the table hungry. Her family loved her pie and all the German food she cooked. Eugenia is survived by her sons, Arnold (Margaret), of Palisade, CO, Clyde (Sandee), of Dickinson, James, of South Heart; daughters, Karen (Kenneth) Kuntz, of Williston, Carla (Harlan) Jirges, of Dickinson, Antoinette (Kevin) Staiger, of Hebron, ND; 13 grandchildren, Gregory, Ross, Jeffrey, Branden, Becky, Julie, Melanie, Heather, Tyler, Tanner, Kristopher, Joshua, Bradley; 30 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; parents, John and Cecilia Herauf; great-grandson, Bennett Staiger; 4 sisters; and 9 brothers.
