Summary: Oren Vallevik, 67, of Williston, ND, passed away August 12, 2024, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. Funeral services wer held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Lutheran Brethren Church in Williston, with Pastor Ron Erickson presiding. Burial was in the East Fork Cemetery in Williston. Oren was born March 1, 1957, to Myrtle and Osmund Vallevik in Williston, ND, He grew up on the family farm and attended grade school at Twin Lakes, graduating from Williston High School. He loved everything about the farm. Oren was a partner of Vallevik Construction where he did concrete work and sold and erected steel buildings. He also joined his brother in two other business endeavors until he decided that farming was his calling and he returned his attention more on that. His love for farming remained in his heart throughout his entire life. Oren also enjoyed a good game of cards, often participating in tournaments. His favorite pastime was riding his Harley Davidson trike. He rode through Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, and also attended the Sturgis Rally for several years. He also had a passion for taking cruises, where he visited Alaska, the Caribbean and the Panama Canal. Oren is survived by his siblings, Kathryn, of Williston, Barbara Eklund (Cliff), of Carlin, NV, Loren (Linda) of Williston, and Daniel of Williston; sister-in-law, Ruth Vallevik, of Billings, MT; 11 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews and 4 great-great-nieces and nephews. Oren was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, Osmund and Myrtle Vallevik; brother, Bruce; sister, Valorie; and his niece, Kim

Summary: The North Dakota Heritage Family Memorial Program is sponsored by the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association. The life stories of deceased North Dakotans are featured in an archvied collection. Current partners in the project are Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Services, Bismarck Evans Funeral Homes, Carrington and New Rockford Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home, Williston Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck Springan Stevenson Funeral Home, Stanley Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson These funeral homes provide recent obituaries to the Foundation, where staff and volunteers format, edit and archive each memorial. The memorials are posted, and copies are sent to the family for their input and approval. The listing currently features more than 13,000 memorials, and is constantly updated as new memorials and histories are received.
