Summary: Linda Schneider, 66, of Hebron, ND, passed away December 27, 2024, at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND. Funeral services were held January 3, 2025, at the First Congregational Church in Hebron with Pastor Marcy Dawson officiating. Burial was in the First Congregational Cemetery. Linda Bertsch was born June 13, 1958 to Julius and Irene (Fischer) Bertsch. She grew up on a farm south of Burt, ND. She graduated from Mott High School in 1976. She then worked at the local ASC office until one day she met the love of her life, Geig Schneider. She often would tell the story of their first date. It was a blind date set up by a friend of theirs and from that moment on they knew they would be inseparable forever. Geig and Linda were married November 28, 1980, and settled on a farm southwest of Hebron. They lived there for the past 43 years and were blessed with three children. They grew small grains, raised cattle, pigs, chickens and buffalo. Linda helped Geig on the farm all her life. Her specialties were driving truck, raking hay, tending to her chickens, making her homemade meals, and taking any opportunity to bring joy to whomever she could. Most recently she loved painting her bales for folks to see as they drove by. They made the best team. Working together is what they both loved so very much and were fortunate enough to be able to do that with their children. In February, mom had to do the hardest thing of her life, continue without Geig. We lost Geig suddenly and no one was prepared for that. She was heartbroken, but still continued to help others. It is what she was put here to do. We will always remember that about mom as we keep her dear in our hearts. Linda had the biggest heart and she showed us that as she and Geig were foster parents for the past 22 years. They truly loved each and every child that crossed their path. Linda would beam with joy whenever given the chance to talk about them with others. Her unconditional love was so substantial that in 2020 they adopted Nathen who was a foster child at the time. Linda was very active in her local community. She was part of the Homemakers Club, Rolling Hills Snowmobile Club as well as a 4-H leader for many, many years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and was very involved with her church, as she was a Sunday School teacher for many years, a member of their church choir and The Guiding Light Society. Linda is survived by her two sons, Tye (Kimberly) Schneider and Nathen, all of Hebron; two daughters, Lacey (Brandon) Koenig of Woodworth, ND, Trish Schneider, of Mott; foster kids, Anne, Dreamy and Breezy Morin, Teea and Ramon Torres, Annie Hutzenbiler and Chris Young, Skye and Sara Neubauer, Nikki Roman, Messie Dhandi, Amy Liedholm, along with many, many others; grandkids, Cedar, Saige, Briggs and Bridger Koenig, Jameson Comer, Xavier, Aleeana, Annica, Izaiah, Arayah and Julian Torres, Novah Neubauer and Zoey Young, along with many others and more to come. Preceding Linda in her death were her parents, Julius and Irene Bertsch; brothers, Kim and Jim Bertsch; and her loving husband, Geig Schneider.
